Victoria Kimani & Gabiro, Both Kenyan Artists, Receives Grammy Awards Nomination

Gabiro Mtu Necessary is a Kenyan Artists born on the 23rd of July, 1995. He started his music profession as a rapper in 2013, releasing his debut single ‘Ball Till I Fall.’ He has also released ‘Story,’ ‘Ujumbe,’ featuring in many songs.

Upon declaring the nominees for the 64th Grammy Award, the social media #GiveCredit Initiative also announced the 3rd edition of the yearly ‘Behind the Record’ awards.

According to the schedule, the event will hold on Tuesday, 23rd of November, 2021, recognizing Victoria Kimani and Gabiro Mtu Necessary for their contributions to the music industry.

Victoria Kimani is a vocalist, actress, dancer, and songwriter of Kenya origin born in California on the 28th of July, 1985.

Her music career began at a tender, and as a teenager, she was already a member of the choir also composing songs for artists.

She came to the limelight in 2010 after her performance of ‘Oleku’ by Ice Prince. That act made Ice Prince’s label ‘Chocolate City’ sign her.

However, in 2013 released her debut single, ‘Mtoto.’ Ever since, she has been collaborating, releasing, and featuring in many other songs.

Victoria Kimani’s ‘Afreaka’ album was among the nominations for the 2020 edition of the Grammy Awards.

Though she didn’t win the trophy, this year again, her most recent album ‘Spirit Animal’ was also nominated for the “64th Grammy Award” that will hold on the 31st of January, 2022.

Spirit Animal seems to be one of her best works ever, featuring Peruzzi, Yemi Alade, KiDi, H-art The Band, and Bella Shmurda. The album is her 4th and contains 16 songs.

Among the most prevailing recognitions of Gabiro is his 2021 nomination at the Grammy Awards. The nomination is from his Extended Play ‘Jenesis’ just released on the 24th of September, 2021.
